BECOME A PILATES APPARATUS INSTRUCTOR

Master the Pilates Reformer, Tower, Cadillac, Chair, Barrel, and Therapeutic Props through guided practice, studio observation, and self-study. How is Comprehensive Certification Structured?

  • This certification program requires a 5-10 hour/week commitment from each participant. It  takes approximately 6-8 months to complete, with flexible scheduling available.
  • Comprehensive Certification is composed of 450 training hours. These hours include group lectures, studio observation, practice teaching, self-study, and assigned reading.
  • Comprehensive Certification is broken down into 5 training modules: Mat I/II; Reformer; Tower; Cadillac and Chair; Barrels and Therapeutic Props.
  1. Two 20-hour Mat I/II Certification training weekends are scheduled for February 2nd-4th and February 16th-18th. During these training weekends, we will meet on Fridays from 545pm-8pm on Saturdays and Sundays from 945am-6pm. To solidify your Mat I/II training, you will be required to complete 12 training hours in each of the following categories: studio observation; practice teaching; self-study; and assigned reading.
  2. Two 20-hour Reformer Certification training weekends are scheduled for March 2nd-4th and March 16th-18th. During these training weekends, we will meet on Fridays from 545pm-8pm on Saturdays and Sundays from 945am-6pm. To solidify your Reformer training, you will be required to complete 12 training hours in each of the following categories: studio observation; practice teaching; self-study; and assigned reading.
  3. Two 20-hour Tower Certification training weekends are scheduled for March 30th-April 1st and April 13th-15th. During these training weekends, we will meet on Fridays from 545pm-8pm on Saturdays and Sundays from 945am-6pm. To solidify your Tower training, you will be required to complete 12 training hours in each of the following categories: studio observation; practice teaching; self-study; and assigned reading.
  4. Two 20-hour Cadillac and Chair Certification training weekends are scheduled for April 27th-29th and May 11th-13th. During these training weekends, we will meet on Fridays from 545pm-8pm on Saturdays and Sundays from 945am-6pm. To solidify your Cadillac and Chair training, you will be required to complete 12 training hours in each of the following categories: studio observation; practice teaching; self-study; and assigned reading.
  5. Two 20-hour Barrels and Therapeutic Props Certification training weekends are scheduled for May 18th-20th and June 1st-3rd. During these training weekends, we will meet on Fridays from 545pm-8pm on Saturdays and Sundays from 945am-6pm. To solidify your Barrels and Therapeutic Props training, you will be required to complete 12 training hours in each of the following categories: studio observation; practice teaching; self-study; and assigned reading.

What does Comprehensive Certification include?

  • Teacher Training Manual including photographs, written instructions, and anatomical cues for all exercises found in the classical and contemporary Pilates mat and apparatus repertoires (beginner, intermediate, and advanced systems).
  • Online Training Library, offered in collaboration with the Pilates Education Institute, which you can access anytime, anywhere from your computer or mobile device.
  • Copies of Return to Life by Joseph Pilates and Pilates Anatomy by Rael Isacowitz et al.
  • In-depth anatomy review and movement analysis for all mat and apparatus exercises.
  • Thorough examination of necessary modifications for prenatal, postnatal, rehab, and rehab clients.
  • Studio observation, practice teaching, self-study, and assigned reading hours.
  • Teaching trials and final examinations.

How much does Comprehensive Certification cost?

  • Register by December 15th for $5500 (save $1000)
  • Register by December 31st for $6000 (save $500)
  • Register by January 12th for $6500 (regular price)

What happens after Comprehensive Certification is complete?

  • Upon the successful completion of your Comprehensive Teacher Training Program, you are eligible for Pilates Instructor Certification through the Pilates Method Alliance, which administers a standardized test that you must pass to officially receive accreditation.
  • As a Comprehensive graduate, you are also eligible for employment at Ploome Pilates. We are always looking to grow our team and would be happy to consider you as an applicant!
